Stefan Beine is Head of SompoRe Ascend, a new in-house team focused on reinsurance training and development. Previously, Mr. Beine served as President, Zurich Reinsurance. He brings a wealth of industry knowledge and experience to his new role, having held various leadership roles at SompoRe including CUO of Global Property Reinsurance, Executive Vice President and Head of Europe Non-Specialty Reinsurance, and Head of Europe Property Catastrophe Reinsurance. Prior to joining SompoRe, he was Head of International Model Solutions for RMS, responsible for defining market requirements for catastrophe model development. Earlier positions with both reinsurers and brokers focused on catastrophe risk modeling, and analysis, strategy and pricing in support of underwriting operations. Mr. Beine was educated at Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany.
