PEMBROKE, Bermuda, July 19, 2022 — Sompo, a leading global provider of commercial and consumer property and casualty (re)insurance, announced today the appointment of Navid Zarinejad as Head of Sustainability. He reports to James Shea, CEO for Sompo, and is based in New York.

Mr. Zarinejad has spent the past eight years with Sompo, most recently as the Chief Risk Officer of its global Retail business. Additionally, over the past three years Mr. Zarinejad has managed the company’s climate change risk strategy and has led the development of its ESG policy. Prior to Sompo, Mr. Zarinejad had the opportunity to work with global insurance carriers, consultancies, and supervisory authorities in the U.S. and Bermuda. He brings over 20 years’ experience in risk management, actuarial science, and sustainability and holds a degree in Biometry & Statistics from Cornell University.
